Could there by anything more intimate than loving someone even when they have stopped loving themselves, other than to allow yourself to be loved when you have stopped loving yourself?

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.

Great love and great achievements involve great risk.

Hate isn’t the opposite of love, indifference is.

If we deny love that is given to us, if we refuse to give love because we fear pain or loss, then our lives will be empty, our loss greater.

If you want to know what love is, give much of yourself. Be honest. Be sincere. Be thoughtful. Be understanding. Be patient and still. Be ready to get hurt.

In life we don't know how many Loves the Lord will send us, but we do know that one day he will send the right one.

It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, but what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

Love comes to those who still hope although they've been disappointed, to those who still believe, although they've been betrayed, to those who still need to love, although they've been hurt before, and to those who have the courage and faith to build trust again.

Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give, which is everything

Love is the answer, but while you are waiting for the answer, sex raises some pretty good questions.
    ~ Woody Allen ~

You have to walk carefully in the beginning of love; the running across fields into your lover's arms can only come later when you're sure they won't laugh if you trip.
~ Jonathan Carroll, Outside the Dog
    Museum ~

Loving involves commitment. We are not automatic lovers of self, others, world, or God. Love does not just happen. We are not love machines, puppets on the strings of a deity called "love." Love is a choice, not simply, or necessarily, a rational choice, but rather a willingness to be present to others without pretense or guile.
    ~ Carter Heywood ~

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength; loving someone deeply gives you courage.
    ~ Lao-Tzu ~

Treasure the love that you receive above all. It will survive long after your gold and good health have vanished.
    ~ Og Mandino ~
